It focuses on the misleading cognates and language interference as the chief obstruent factors that led students to provide inaccurate translations and in some cases erroneous ones. It also highlights the origins and the different types of errors due to misleading cognates as we studied them as related to history and society. We have tried in our study as well, to locate those errors in students' translations within their assessment sheets and check their awareness of this phenomenon by analyzing their sheets and verifying the exactitude of our assumptions in a questionnaire distributed to the same students. At the end, we have provided some alternatives and solutions that may help students to avoid the occurrence of this phenomenon.
