A1 الحارثي، سارة مفلح AB The current study aimed to identify the relationship of obesity and depression to gender among university students with obesity, as well as to identify the level of depression among students with different levels of obesity (low obesity - medium obesity – too much obesity) and differents gender ex (male-female) and the study was applied to a sample consisting of (180) Male and female students from Shaqra University students, the study followed the descriptive approach, and the researcher used the depression scale (researcher preparation) and the application of measuring body mass index, and the results concluded that there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of students on the depression scale due to the difference in obesity level (low obesity - medium obesity -too much obesity) in favor of the higher body mass index, and the presence of a statistically significant difference between the average scores of students on the depression scale as a result of gender difference (male-female) in favor of males. The study also found that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students on the depression scale as a result of the interaction Between obesity and gender together . The study recommends that educational institutions and the media should pay attention to educating students about the dangers of obesity and adopting proper healthy behavior.
