A1 زمزمي، عبد الرحمن بن معتوق بن عبد الرحمن AB This study aims at evaluating the academic achievement in statistics course in view of the different sources of cognitive load and achievement goal tendencies and level of self-regulated learning among the preparatory year students at Jeddah University. The study used the descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of (583) PYP students. Data were analyzed by 3-way variance analysis of the following factorial design (2 × 3 × 3). The study results indicated the presence of significant differences in academic achievement between internal groups of students & intrinsic/extraneous cognitive load in the light of the difference in achievement goal tendency and level of self-regulated learning.
