A1 الشمراني، سعيد بن محمد عبد الله A2 الغامدي، عبد الرحمن هادي AB The aim of this research is to identify the instructional practices based on the teacher’s guide for middle school science teachers. To achieve this goal, the descriptive method has been implemented, where two tools, observation, and interview, were applied on a random sample of (8) science teachers in Riyadh city. The validity of the instruments and the stability of the observation card have been verified by the appropriate scientific methods. The results indicated that the level of instructional practices in the areas of the lesson introduction, multi-level review and evaluation was high, while the level of practice in the fields of teaching, help your students to read and write, and brochures within the laboratory was medium. The results also showed that teachers face some obstacles that impede their practices from being based on the teacher’s guide. The most prominent of these obstacles are: obstacles related to the student, obstacles related to the teacher, obstacles related to the parents, obstacles related to the schoolbook, and administrative obstacles. In the light of the research results, the researchers made a set of recommendations and suggestions.
