A1 الشهراني، رقية جابر علي AB This study aimed to identify the impact of using WebQuests in teaching mathematics in the development of conceptual understanding among first-grade intermediate students. To achieve this objective, imperical approach was adopted. A conceptual understanding test was used to measure three aspects in two lessons (perimeter and area of the circle) in math in the first grade intermediate and it was applied on a randomly selected sample of 34 first intermediate grade girls in one of the intermediate schools of the Department of Education in Abha, within Asir city. The study sample was assigned to two groups. One of them is the experimental group (N=17) who studied perimeter and area of the circle using WebQuests, and the other is a control group (N=17) who studied the same lessons by the traditional method. After the experiment, a posttest was applied on both groups during the second semester of the year (1436 - 1437 H). Results indicated that there are statistically significant differences at (a = 0.05) between mean score of students of the experimental group and students of control group in the posttest in aspects of conceptual understanding in favor of the experimental group. The study also indicated that there was a high impact of using WebQuests in teaching mathematics on the development of conceptual understanding among students of first grade intermediate.
