A1 العليمات، أميرة حامد A2 عبيدات، هاني حتمل A2 السعدي، عماد توفيق AB The purpose of the study is to investigate the role of history books and social media sites in improving social values and political awareness among secondary stage students in Jordan. The researchers adopted the descriptive approach; as a tool of (72) items was developed and validity and reliability were checked. The tool consisted of two parts; the first about the role of history book in improving social values and political awareness; while the second was about the role of social media in improving social values and political awareness. The tool was administrated on a sample of (1306) male and female students from Zaraqa governorate were selected through cluster random sampling. The findings of the study showed that the role of history books and social media sites in improving social values was in an average level with a mean of (3.62) and standard deviation of (0.72), and the political awareness was in an average level too with a mean of (3.59) and standard deviation of (.078). The study recommended the need to focus on political awareness and social values in history books as it is very important in raising the youth.
