A1 الحبيب، أمل محمد AB This study has investigated the current use of blogs as a learning content management system (LCMS) at the department of information technology (the female branch) in the Faculty of Computing at King Saud University. The purpose of the study was to identify the advantages and the disadvantages of the use of blogs from the point of view of students and faculty members. The study employed a mixed research method. There were four formal interviews with faculty members, in addition to a questionnaire-based study. Using the random sampling method, the survey targeted 34 female students. The research concluded that the current use of blogs, despite its benefits, is not satisfactory. This is because it does not make good use of the technology and is not student-centered. The study has made the following recommendation: developing the traditional learning management system with the integration of the web.2 tools, in order to combine both participatory and flexibility that reinforce modern learning theories along with providing secure and easily managed features.
