A1 الحميري، هاجر عبد الدايم مهدي AB The current research aims to identify the impact of the rational investigation strategy on the achievement of second-graders middle school students in the subject of history and the development of their cognitive motivation. The researcher used the experimental design with partial and post-and-post testing. Division (A) represented the control group that is taught in the traditional way. The number of students reached (67) students, (33) students in the experimental group and (34) students in the control group .The two groups were rewarded in the variables(Female students ’chronological age, IQ scores, previous year’s scores), the researcher prepared an achievement test that measures achievement and adopted a cognitive motivation scale. According to the strategy of rational investigation, the researcher recommended using the strategy of rational inquiry to teach history.
