A1 جاسم، أشواق نصيف AB This study aims at investigating the obstacles in using high-rank thinking methods by university teaching staff members. The sample of the study consisted of teaching staff members from the University of Diyala, College of Education for Human Sciences, departments of educational and psychological sciences, Arabic language, history, geography, and English language. The tool of the study was a questionnaire prepared by the researchers consisted of eight items. Face validity, hypothetical medium, and weighted medium for the items were extracted. The researchers have reached to certain conclusions like there is a weakness in the programs of preparing and training university teaching staff. The researchers recommended developing programs of preparing and training university teaching staff by utilizing modern methods of thinking during their service. The researchers also recommended conducting a similar study on the students.
