A1 المهداوي، عدنان محمود A2 المعموري، علي جاسم محمد AB This study aims at investigating the extent of self-disclosure in the students of intermediate stage. The researcher adopted the descriptive method. The study was limited to public intermediate day-class schools and male students in the center of Baqubah district which is affiliated to the general directory of education in Diyala for the academic year 2015-2016. The study community included the students of 11 intermediate schools affiliated to the general directory of education in Diyala in the center of Baqubah district. The total number of students is 5450. The scale was applied on a sample consisted of 253 students from two schools chosen randomly: 133 students from Iraq intermediate and 120 students from Bureir intermediate. The researcher designs a scale for self-disclosure consisted of 36 items distributed into four aspects: 10 items for the revealed area, 8 items for the blind area, 10 items for the concealed area, and 8 items for the unknown area. The researcher checked the validity of the scale by face validity and the markers of construct validity. The scale reliability was extracted by retest method and reached 0.84, and by Cronbach formula alpha and registered 0.74. For data processing, the researcher used several statistic devices like: t- test for two independent samples, Pearson correlation coefficient, alpha Cronbach formula, chi square test, t-test for one sample. The results revealed the decrease in the extent of self-disclosure in the sample of the study. The study also came up with several conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions for further study.
