A1 محمد، نبال الحاج AB The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between generalized anxiety disorder and pessimism in light of some variables such as gender, education, number of times dialysis in week and duration of disease. The sample consisted of 122 Lebanese patients with a mean age of 55 years, suffering from chronic renal failure disease, from hospitals that offer treatment to such diseased patients. Results indicated that levels of generalized anxiety disorder and pessimism were high among those patients, and there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the two disorders. There were no significant differences between males and females on generalized anxiety and pessimism. The results also revealed that there were no differences in levels of generalized anxiety and pessimism among the patients according to education, number of times dialysis in week and duration of disease.
