A1 الجار، ثريا عبد الله AB This study aimed to obtain a list of quality standards of university textbook from the view of faculty members in colleges of education at Shaqra University. The researcher used descriptive approach and prepared a questionnaire after studying the pedagogical literature and previous studies. The questionnaire was distributed on a sample of (32) members of curriculum and teaching methods specialists who teach on faculties of education at Shaqra University. Means and standard deviation were used as statistical means. The study presented a list of (100) quality standards of University textbooks, which gained the acceptance of whole sample, spread over three domains: educational standards (32 quality standards), technical standards for organizing and directing the content (50 quality standards) and technical output standards (18 quality standards). The researcher has recommended adoption of the list to evaluate approved or new university textbooks, to allocate an annual prize for best university textbook and to maintain culture of quality university textbooks through workshops, lectures and training courses. She suggested conducting studies to evaluate the approved university textbooks based on the quality standards of the current study, and studies to identify the requirements of quality assurance of university textbooks in Saudi universities.
