A1 سلامة، نجوى سليمان عوض A2 حسن، ثناء عبد المنعم رجب A2 عبد العظيم، ريم أحمد AB The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of free imagining strategy on development some of story writing skills for preparatory stage students. The sample consisted of (80) students, whose divided into two groups, an experimental group (n= 40 students) taught the story by free imagining and a control group (n=40 students) taught the story by the traditional method. The study lasted in the first semester of the 2016/ 2017 academic year. The results of the study revealed that there were significant statistical differences in the test of story writing skills all for the favour of the experimental group, In addition to it showed that there were significant statistical differences between the preand post- test in story writing skills all for the favour of the upper average. Furthermore, the results showed that there were significant statistical differences between the pre- and post- test in each skill separately for the favour of the post – test, in the light of the above results, the study proposed several recommendations such as training of the students on using free imagining strategy As well as take advantage of the teaching content by the free imagining strategy, and work on its implementation; in order to provide the appropriate story writing skills for the preparatory stage students. Finally, the study recommends that further research in using free imagining strategy and relate this to some educational variables.
