A1 شاهين، عبد الرحمن بن يوسف AB The research aimed at investigating teaching strategies according to the preferred learning styles among the students of the Islamic University in Madina. Sample of the research consisted of 301 students (in the fifth through eighth levels). The research utilized the descriptive method in gathering data. Two instruments were developed in the research, including the learning styles scale, as well as, a questionnaire for finding out the teaching strategies. Findings of the research indicated the preference of the students of the Islamic university for the cooperative learning style, followed by the dependent learning style, then the collaborative learning style. The results indicated, also, the preference of the students for teaching strategies that are based on the activity of the professor and the student, and finally the student activity based strategies. Results indicated, also, that there were no differences in all the preferred learning styles among the students of the Islamic University in Madina, due to the two variables of the study level and the continent. However, a difference was found in the learning styles due to the variable of the type of college, in favor of the scientific colleges, and the grade point average, in favor of the students who obtained the grade of excellence. There were no statistically significant differences in the teaching strategies due the demographic variables (type of college, continent, and study level). Results of the research indicated, also, a statistically significant correlation between the preferred learning styles among the Islamic University students and the teaching strategies.
