A1 السحت، مصطفى زكريا أحمد A2 صبحي، أميرة حسين أحمد AB The purpose of the current study is to offer a proposal to develop the social studies teachers' performance at the primary school level in the Light of their professional self-responsibility. The descriptive method was used in order to make use of the educational literature reviews in both teacher's performance and the professional responsibility fields to form the theoretical framework and the research tools. The researcher prepared a questionnaire to measure the social studies teachers' professional responsibility status. The study sample included 90 teachers, 45 males and 45 females. The study showed shortage in the professional responsibility of the social studies teachers. It also showed that there were statistical differences in the averages of appreciating the level of professional responsibility with the teachers who have more than 10 years of experience. While, there weren't any relevant statistical differences with the average of professional responsibility related to Gender. The research offered a proposal to develop the social studies teachers' performance in the Light of their professional self-responsibility.
