A1 عبد جاسم، عباس AB Psychological distress is one of the topics that represent different types of danger to individuals according to the ability of each individual to confront the situations that cause psychological distress, and the emergence of psychological distress in individuals has many reasons that require study to show the impact of psychological distress across all strata of society, An environment that encourages the spread of the phenomenon of psychological distress, whether it is related to the individual or the surrounding environment or situations that are exposed to the individual so that can be affected by a significant impact both on his psychological, professional, economic or social. The current research aimed at identifying: 1) measuring the psychological pressure of middle school students. 2) Identification of the significance of statistical differences depending on the gender variable (male–female). The research was determined by the students of the first intermediate stage Rusafa in the province of Baghdad for the academic year 2017 2018. In order to achieve the objectives of the research, the researchers built a measure of psychological stress consisting of (30) paragraph, and then the scale was applied to the sample of the research (100) In four schools from the Directorate of Rusafa I, where the discriminatory force of the scales was extracted and it turned out that there are five non-distinct paragraphs (2, 7, 9, 18, 22). Stability has been derived by means of a half-split method using the Pearson correlation coefficient. As a result, the number of paragraphs of the psychological stress scale has reached its final form. The researcher reached several results, including: 1) The average psychological pressure in the members of the research sample is higher than the average satisfactory and statistical significance. 2) There are statistically significant differences in the psychological pressure of the research sample according to the gender variable (male -female) and male detection .Based on these results, the researcher came up with a number of recommendations and suggestions.
