A1 صديق، أحمد سمير AB The current study aims at identifying the contribution of moral intelligence to predict the quality of friendship among the students of Minia University. This study is based on a sample of 263 sophomore students. The researcher has developed a list of moral intelligence and a scale of friendship quality that are adopted as the testing tools in the research. The findings of the study show that there is a significantly positive relationship between the scores of the participants on the list of moral intelligence with its dimensions and the scale of friendship quality. In addition, there are statistically significant differences between the scores’ mean of males and females – in favor of females – in the dimensions of the moral intelligence, such as sympathy, conscience, fairness, and respect. In contrast, the differences are in favor of males in the dimension of self-control. The research also indicates that there are no significant differences between the male and female scores’ mean in both tolerance and empathy, as well as in terms of rural and city residents in the moral intelligence regarding the dimensions of sympathy, conscience, tolerance, empathy, fairness, respect, and the overall score. As for the dimension of self-control, there are differences between the mean scores of the rural residents and the city residents in favor of the rural residents. The research finally concludes that the moral intelligence significantly contributes to predicting the quality of friendship in the study sample.
