A1 أبو خضير، بسام محمد AB The current study aims at identifying the level of job- satisfaction among academic staff in public and private Universities located at the northern governorates of Jordan. The study also aims at revealing the differences in the staff’s responses in accordance with the study variables. The study sample was selected based on the rank, consisted of (567) members. the researcher used a job satisfaction measurement that prepared honestly which consisted of 45 items divided into six dimensions. the study showed the following: 1) The level of job satisfaction among the academic staff at the Jordanian universities located in northern governorates is medium. 2) There is a statistically significant difference between the two means of job satisfaction due to the university type in favor of the academic staff working in public universities. 3) There is a statistically significant difference between the means of job satisfaction due to the academic rank in favor of the rank of professor. 4) There is a statistically significant between the two means of job satisfaction due to the variable of gender in favor of the male. In light of the study results, the researcher provided a number of recommendations.
