A1 المرشد، مزاد عبد الرحمن AB The family has an intellectually protective function carried out through what it provides its children from good upbringing and comprehensive care, through early detection of disorders that may affect the children and assisting them in evaluating and treating those disorders. However, the family is facing a lot of challenges, risks and rapid changes in all aspects of religious, scientific, social and economic life. Perhaps the most serious of those challenges is the spread of intellectual pollution and the move away from the approach of moderation in thought toward extremism, which was the direct cause behind the emergence of strife and conflict and the growth in the number of schools of thought and trends. That is something that weakens a nation and threatens its security, stability and existence. Out of belief in the role of social service as one of the professions that deal with the community and seek to contribute to the solution of its problems, and where concern for family and children is one of the areas through which social service seeks to achieve integration of its knowledge, skills and values and concerns, the researcher has seen fit to carry out this to put forward a proposal for social service to meet the challenges faced by the family in the promotion of intellectual security for its children. It is a descriptive study where the researcher used the social survey method using: 1) The random sample way usually applied to high school students, 2) A comprehensive survey of faculty at the School of social Work at PNU using a questionnaire to collect data. The results showed the many challenges facing the family in the promotion of intellectual security for its children, challenges that are related to schools, mosques and electronic media. It was clear from the study that there are shortcomings in curricula and student activities relating to civic duty towards the security forces and confronting violence and extremism and promoting a culture of dialogue between teachers and students. In addition to the role of mosques in promoting intellectual security, though important, is practiced only moderately. The results also confirmed that contemporary technologies play an active role in influencing the intellectual security of individuals, both in political terms and in terms of intellectual dependency. The study also produced a proposal for the practice of social service through the cognitive therapy model to meet the challenges faced by the family in the promotion of intellectual security for its children.
