A1 بني مصطفى، بسمة محمد حسين A2 عبد الجبار، سيناريا كامل A2 الشرعة، نايل A2 وشاح، هاني عبد الله A2 عساسفة، سهيل محمود AB The study aimed to identify the effect of an educational program based on the communicative approach to teach English language in improving the linguistic intelligence and critical listening skills among tenth grade students in Jordan. The researcher used the semi-experimental method. The study sample consisted of two groups; experimental group that was taught according to the communicative approach, while the control group was taught according to the conventional method. The sample consisted of (80) students, distributed by (40) students for the experimental group, and (40) students for the control group. Sowf secondary school was selected due to the school’s administration willingness to cooperate, and provide assistance. To achieve the objectives of the study, a critical listening test was designed consisting of (13) items, and the Armstrong scale was adopted for the linguistic intelligence which consisting of (10) items. The results of the study showed the following: There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group which was taught using the communicative approach program and the control group. In light of the results of the study, the researcher presented a set of recommendations such as, the importance of embedding the linguistic intelligence and critical listening skills in the tenth’ grade English curriculum.
