The study content analysis card-test of the number sense skills. The study sample consisted of (230) male and female fifth graders at the UNRWA schools in beit hanoun and beit lahiya school district, as well as the mathematics curriculum content of the fourth, fifth, and sixth elementary grades. The analytical-descriptive approach. The study finds: 1) with respect to analysis of content in the light of the number sense skills: the mental arithmetic skill got a percentage of 15.44, the rough estimate skill got a percentage of 59.82, while the skill of ensuring the answer reasonableness got a percentage of 24.74. 2) the sample’s performance on the test of the number sense skills in the elementary fifth grade was less than 70%, the level of students' acquisition of number sense skills was 55.26%, the level of students' acquisition of mental arithmetic skill was 61.06%, the level of students' acquisition of rough estimate skill was 48.09%, while their acquisition of the skill of ensuring the answer reasonableness was 54.67%. 3) the findings revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of the number sense skills and the mental arithmetic skill and ensuring the answer reasonableness skill in the content of the mathematics curriculum attributed to the gender variable. However, there were differences in the rough estimate skill in favor of the male students. The study recommended reconsidering the content of mathematics curricula of the elementary stage so that their themes can contribute to the development of number sense among students.
