The study addresses the following major question: What is the effect of employing alternative evaluation methods on developing speculative thinking and mapping skills for 10th graders? The following minor questions emanated from the above major one: 1) What are the evaluating methods which needed to be employed? 2) What are speculative skills which needed to be developed for tenth graders in Geography? 3) What are mapping skills which needed to be developed for tenth graders? 4) Are there statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) between average score of the experimental and the control group in speculative thinking test? 5) Are there statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) between average score of the experimental and the control group in mapping skills test? The researcher used the experimental approach (pre-post).The sample of the study consists of (64) female tenth graders in Fahmi Al-Jerjawi high school for girls in directorate of education-west Gaza (2012-2013). They were chosen randomly (experimental and control). To achieve the purpose of the study the researcher prepared alternative evaluating methods (self- evaluating, paired evaluating). It consists of unit six (Latin American continent / South) speculative thinking and mapping skills test for this unit. speculative thinking and mapping skills test were implemented to make sure of group equivalence Was calculated honesty of Aachtbarren through sincerity arbitrators and certified internal consistency was calculated stability of the two tests through retail midterm and equation Kuder -Richardson (K-R21) has reached stability test skills reflective thinking retail midterm (0.77) and equation Kuder -Richardson (K-R21) (0.88) and the stability of test skills mapping retail midterm (0.73) and equation Kuder -Richardson (K-R21) (0.60). 1) Speculative thinking test in unit six (Latin American continent / South) according to new Palestinian curriculum 2012-2013. 2) mapping skills test in unit six (Latin American continent / South) according to new Palestinian curriculum 2012-2013 The researcher used different statistic forms using the statistical program (SPSS) to show the final collected data results. 1) Test was used (t) test for independent samples and samples linked. 2) Kuder -Richardson (K-R21) & the spilt half: to test the reliability of the test 3) ETA box to reveal the effectiveness of alternative methods of evaluation, and (d) to find the size of the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. There are statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) between average score of the experimental and the control group in the post speculative thinking test in favor the experimental group there are statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) between average score of the experimental and the control group in mapping skills test in favor the experimental group In light of the findings of the study results have been a number of recommendations including a guide to special mechanisms used evaluation methods the new geography and submit it for teachers to take advantage of it as a reference primarily in the share of geography along the lines of evidence issued by the Ministry of Education and trained teachers by.
