AB The study aimed to identify the fields and methods of professional development required for educational leaders in the public schools in Saudi Arabia, specifically in the fields of communication, training and management of meetings. The study used the descriptive analytical approach. The study sample consisted of all managers and their deputies in public schools (148) managers and agents. The results of the study are as follows: 1) the level of communication and communication is relatively better (3.41) which is a (high) degree, while school principals face obstacles and challenges related to the management of meetings at an average (3.15) which is a (medium) degree, with the need for training at an average of (3.07) which is a (medium) degree. 2) The role of the ministry of education in achieving the professional development of educational leaders, the principals and deputies of the public schools through the supervisory practices of the educational administration and the supervisors is still practiced with a (medium) degree. 3) There are many deficiencies and dire need for the professional development of the administrative leaders; principals and their deputies, supervisors and all workers in the field of education. In the light of the results of the study, a number of recommendations and suggestions were presented to activate the professional development of the educational leaders in Al-Mahwah and the general kingdom.
