A2 العرسان، سامر رافع ماجد AB This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of using an educational program based on Woods program in the development of learning achievement and metacognition thinking skills for “the Theories of Learning “course students in then University of Hail. Through following a semiexperimental design which was represented in dividing the individuals of the sample into two groups: the experimental group consisted of 24 students and the control group consisted of 25 students from the College of Education, educational psychology specialty at the University of Hail, who are registered in “the Theory of Learning” course for (2016-2017) academic year and selected randomly. To achieve the objectives of the study, an educational program was designed based on Woods structural program. It also implements the scales of learning achievements and cognition and metacognition skills prior and posteriorly to both groups after verifying their authenticity and persistence in an appropriate ways. The results of the study showed: 1) There were significant statistical differences in the effectiveness of the educational program in the development of the skills at the level (a=05.0) between the two groups (experimental and control) in favour of the experimental group. 2) The experimental group was superior to the control group on the learning achievement scale.
