A1 الشديفات، صادق حسن. AB This study aimed at investigating the level of readability for the Islamic education textbook of the sixth graders in Jordan and arranging the textbooks accordingly. This study also aimed at studying the effect of gender on readability level, if there is any. Four cloze tests were prepared in the following subjects: writing the Holy Quran at Othman era, the virtuous companion, the righteous companion: Alzubair bin Al ‘Awaam, interdependence (takaful). The random sample consisted of 310 male and female students representing Al Mafraq Directorate. The reported results revealed that the students’ reading performance level fell within the low level in general with an exception in the case of “Writing the Holy Quran” which obtained a mean of 41.3, A mean that was considered acceptable. Results also showed a significant difference for gender females on the readability level.
