The study also aimed to identify the statistically significant differences between spreading of irrational thoughts and level of social anxiety based on two variables (Gender and Specialization). A number of 4568 students have participated in the study including all students of CAS-Ibri, CAS-Nizwa and CAS-Rustaq. Then a smaller sample, of 282 students, was selected for the study. The Connective Descriptive Syllabus has been used in the study. A tool has been developed to measure irrational thoughts and another tool to measure social phobia. The two tools credibility has been checked through arbitration method, as the stability of them has been estimated based on Cronbach’s alpha. Results showed that the two tools have satisfied credibility and stability coefficients for the purpose of the study. The results showed that the prevalence of irrational thoughts between students of the Colleges of Applied Sciences was medium as well as the average of prevalence of social phobia. According to gender variable and specialization variable there were being no statistically significant differences in the irrational thoughts measurement. The results also showed that there were being no statistically significance differences according to both gender and specialization variables for social phobia measurement.
