AB The research aims to evaluate the impact of the use of participatory and collaborative WIKI editors in the collection of solar system concepts in the social curriculum of middle school students. The research sample consisted of (60) students from the ninth grade (third intermediate) in the school of Abdullatif Saad Al-Shamlan in Al-Jahra area in Kuwait, The descriptive approach and the semi-empirical approach to the design (tribal-treatment-dimension) were used for two experimental groups; each group consisted of (30) students. The first group studied the olfactory group unit with the Wiki participatory editor, while the second group studied the unit with competitive wiki editors. The research tool was an achievement test for the solar module. The results showed a statistical effect at (0.05) for cooperative learning and competitive learning with the wikis in developing the cognitive achievement of the students of the two groups. There was also a relative superiority of the students of the cooperative learning group where they obtained an average of (17.7) on the students of the competitive learning group, which had average achievement (16). The study recommended using participatory editors and employing them in various educational fields, expanding their use in middle school education, and spreading awareness of the importance of using them and developing their skills in teachers and students.
