A2 البعلي، إبراهيم عبد العزيز A2 حجاج، آية أحمد عبد الفتاح AB The present study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using mind maps in the acquisition of scientific concepts among the first-grade preparatory stage pupils. The study sample consisted of 81 female pupils. They were divided into two groups: experimental group (n=42) and control group (n=39). The experiment group was represented by the pupils at 1-5 class, Aghour Al-Raml Preparatory School and they studies the two selected units through using the mind maps. The control group was represented by the pupils at 1-3 class, Arab Al-Raml Preparatory School and they studied using the traditional method. A test in the acquisition of scientific concepts was developed and administered as a pre-application and a postapplication. The study findings revealed that there were statistically significant differences, at 0.01, between the experimental group's scores means and those of the control group on the test in the acquisition of scientific concepts in the post-application, in favour of the experimental group pupils.
