A1 Hassan, Alradia Berir A2 Ibrahim, Nagla Bab-Elkeir A2 Hassan, Huwaida Mahmoud Abu Baker A2 Abdalla, Hagir Idriss Yousif AB This descriptive study was carried out in governmental basic schools in Khartoum north locality to investigate teachers’ perspectives on challenges of classroom management. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used in this study. Seventy (70) teachers were conveniently selected for filling a questionnaire, while personal interviews were conducted with eight (8) personnel from educational directory. The collected data was analyzed accordingly, the results revealed the lack of organization of classroom environment, and class overcrowding are the major challenges that face teachers in governmental basic schools. Teachers used different strategies to handle classroom challenges mainly through establishing classroom discipline based on dignity and hope. The educational management prepares new teachers in dealing with student and class problems by giving intensive training by experts, unfortunately within short training periods, the study recommended offering training and workshops on classroom management within suitable period, and improvement of classroom environment through provision of suitable equipment and solve the problem of overcrowded classes.
