هدف البحث إلى التعرف على فاعلية التدريس باستراتيجية القبعات الست للتفكير في تنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد في مادة الدراسات الاجتماعية لدى تلاميذ الصف الثالث الإعدادي. ولتحقيق هذا الهدف تم إعداد المواد التعليمية التي تمثلت في (دليل المعلم الخاص بتدريس وحدة مصر والزحف الاستعماري - كتاب التلميذ)، وإعداد أداة القياس وهي اختبار مهارات التفكير الناقد (الاستنتاج، والتنبؤ أو معرفة الافتراضات، والاستنباط، والتفسير، وتقويم الحجج). وقد تم استخدام المنهج التجريبي القائم على التصميم شبه التجريبي ذو المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة، وقد تكونت عينة البحث من (114) تلميذا موزعين بالتساوي على مجموعتين تجريبية وعددها (57) وضابطة وعددها (57)، تجريبية درست موضوعات الوحدة الرابعة (مصر والزحف الاستعماري) وفقا لاستراتيجية القبعات الست للتفكير، والأخرى ضابطة درست نفس الوحدة بالطريقة التقليدية المعتادة، واستخدم اختبار التفكير الناقد، وطبق قبليا وبعديا على مجموعتي البحث تجريبية وضابطة. وأسفرت نتائج البحث عن وجود فرق دال إحصائيا بين متوسطات درجات تلاميذ المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة في التطبيق البعدي لمقياس مهارات التفكير الناقد ككل وفي كل مهارة على حدة لصالح المجموعة التجريبية مما يدل على فاعلية استراتيجية القبعات الست للتفكير في تنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد لدى تلاميذ الصف الثالث الإعدادي. The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of using the six thinking hats strategy in teaching social studies and developing third-grade preparatory pupils' critical thinking skills. To achieve this, the researcher prepared the measurement instrument (the critical thinking skills -test which included five skills: inference, assumption, deduction, interpretation, and argument). The current research used the experimental design which based on the quasi-experimental approach of the two groups (experimental and control), the experimental group that was taught according to the six thinking hats strategy, and the control group that was taught according to the traditional approach. Pre and post measurements of the critical thinking skills -test were applied to the two groups. The results showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post measurement of the critical thinking skills -test (as a whole test and in each skill individually) in favor of the experimental group, this indicated that the effectiveness of using the six thinking hats teaching strategy in developing third-grade preparatory pupils' critical thinking skills.
