The study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of free and controlled instructional forums on developing the electronic lesson designing skills of education faculty female students at the Islamic university in Gaza. The study problem was stated in the following major question: What is the effectiveness of free and controlled instructional forums on developing electronic lesson designing skills of education faculty female students at the Islamic university in Gaza? The following minor questions emanated from the above major one: 1) What are the free and controlled instructional forums that can be used in developing the electronic lesson designing sills? 2) What are the electronic lesson designing skills that need to develop among education faculty female students at the Islamic university in Gaza? 3) Are there statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the students' performance in the cognitive test of the electronic lesson designing skills attributable to the teaching method (free forum controlled forum- traditional)? 4) Are there statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the students' performance on the observation checklist of the electronic lesson designing skills attributable to the teaching method (free forum controlled forum- traditional)? To answer these questions, the researcher designed the study tools which were a 40- item cognitive test, and an observation checklist to measure the electronic lesson designing skills. Then the researcher ensured the validity, reliability, and applicability of the study instruments The researcher constructed power point lessons and loaded them on the instructional forum. She also selected three sections of female students of education faculty at the Islamic university enrolled in the instructional technology course. The first experimental group consisted of (17), the second comprised (25) while the control group included (16). (Author's abstract)
