The aim of the study was to identify the effect of using the strategy of the learning by the brain of two sides in teaching science to develop some of the habits of mind on the ninth grade students in Gaza, and limited some productive of Habits mind that are suitable for learning and teaching science, and known differences of significant in some productive of Habits mind between experimental and control group, and known differences of significant in some productive of Habits mind between experimental and control group for dominated side for the brain it was (the left-the right – two sides). The study problem was defined in the following main question: What is the effect of using the strategy of the learning by the brain of two sides in teaching science to develop some of the habits of mind on the ninth grade students in Gaza. The following sub- questions branch from the main question: 1) What are the some productive of Habits mind that are suitable for learning and teaching science for Grad nine students? 2) Are there statistically significant differences at the level (α≤0.05) between the average of the students, marks in experimental group and that of their peers in the control group in the test of some habits of the productive mind in favor of the experimental group? 3) Are there statistically significant differences at the level (α≤0.05) in some habits of the productive mind in the students of right a hemispheric which dominant the brain in the experimental group and their peers in the control group in favor of the experimental group. 4) Are there statistically significant differences at the level (α≤0.05) in some habits of the productive mind in the students of left a hemispheric which dominant the brain in the experimental group and their peers in the control group in favor of the experimental group. 5) Are there statistically significant differences at the level α≤0.05) in some habits of the productive mind in the students of the two sides dominant in the experimental group and their peers in the control group in favor of the experimental group. To achieve the aim of the study the researcher adopted the test of the Brain Domination. This test was translated by Afana and AL-Gaish in (2008) to identify which side was dominative the brain, then she prepared a test to measure some of habits of the productive mind. This test consisted of fifty items, the test was offered by a set of referees to make sure of its integrity and validity in order to apply it. The researcher applied this test on a pilot study sample of forty students to make sure of its validity and reliability statistically. Then the test was applied on the experimental group and the control group as a pretest and posttest. For the purpose of the study the researcher chose a sample of eighty students from the female seventh grade from UNRWA Maghazi prep. Girls (B) school. This sample was chosen in a purposive way. The sample of the study distributed in to two groups. One of the groups represented the control group of (40) students, and the other represented the experimental one of (40) students. The groups were randomly chosen from a purposive sample. The researcher adopted the experimental approach to study the effect of the independent variable (the strategy of the learning by the brain of two sides) on the dependent variable which was(some habits of the productive mind). The experimental group was studied by this strategy, whereas the other group was studied by the traditional method. To verify the hypotheses of the study the researcher used a number of statistical methods including the mean, standard deviations, Eta square to measure the effect size, T-test for two independent samples, Mannwhatney test to measure the differences between the two independent groups. The results were as the following: 1) There are statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.05) between the average of the students, marks in experimental group and that of their peers in the control group in the test of some habits of the productive mind in favor of the experimental group. 2) There are statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.05) in some habits of the productive mind in the students of right a hemispheric which dominant the brain in the experimental group and their peers in the control group in favor of the experimental group. 3) There are statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.05) in some habits of the productive mind in the students of left a hemispheric which dominant the brain in the experimental group and their peers in the control group in favor of the experimental group. 4) There are statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.05) in some habits of the productive mind in the students of the two sides dominant in the experimental group and their peers in the control group in favor of the experimental group. In the light of results of the study following recommendations are offered: The need to train the science teachers in the stages of the pre-university education to use the strategies the brain of two sides theory.
