AU - القحطاني، المحسن عايض القحطاني AB - هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن واقع كفايات الترجمة لدى المترجمين العاملين في حقل الترجمة الخاصة بدولة الكويت. وقد تم التمهيد للدراسة بمقدمة نظرية عكست أهم المفاهيم والنماذج ذات الصلة بموضوع كفايات الترجمة. ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة، اعتمد المنهج الكمّي من خلال استبانة استندت في تصميمها على مقومات البرنامج الأوروبي للترجمة (EMT) وطبّقت على عينة من مجتمع الدراسة ن=33. وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى: أ) إنّ تصورات العينة لأهمية كفايات الترجمة مرتفعة؛ ب) إنّ تصورات العينة حول واقع كفايات الترجمة سلبية، بحيث يشير إلى انخفاض امتلاك تلك الكفايات لدى المترجمين. وقد خرجت الدراسة بتوصيات من أهمها: تمهين صناعة الترجمة Profession- alism، بحيث لا يمارسها إلاّ من يملك ترخيصا مهنيا يسمح له بممارسة مهنة الترجمة. The study was paved with a theoretical background reflecting main relevant con¬cepts and models. The quantitative ap¬proach was adopted to achieve the study objectives, using a survey designed ac¬cording to the European Master’s in Translation dimensions, and distributed among a sample 33 translators. The find¬ings showed that: a) the sample trans¬lators’ perceptions of translation compe¬tence were highly positive; while b) their perceptions of the current state of these competencies among translators is Ku¬wait were negative. The study concluded with some relevant recommendation, the most important of which is that transla¬tion industry should undergo translation professionalism premises where only those who hold a professional license can practice translation business.
