AB - هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على اتجاهات الشاب الجامعي نحو القراءة وعلاقتها ببعض المتغيرات الديموغرافية في جامعات سلطنة عمان. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (1434) طالبا جامعيا وطالبة من مختلف الجامعات العمانية الحكومية والخاصة التابعة لإشراف وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي والابتكار. وشملت الدراسة كافة المحافظات العمانية وعددها (11) محافظة، وتم استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي؛ حيث تم جمع البيانات باستخدام مقياس اتجاهات القراءة من إعداد الباحث، وتمت المعالجة الإحصائية باستخدام الحزمة الإحصائية لتحليل البيانات (SPSS). بينت نتائج الدراسة أن اتجاهات القراءة لدى الشاب الجامعي جاءت بدرجة مرتفعة، كما بينت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (0.05) في اتجاهات الشاب الجامعي نحو القراءة تعزى لمتغير النوع ولصالح الإناث، كما أظهرت عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (0.05) في اتجاهات القراءة لدى الشاب الجامعي تعزى لمتغيرات (المحافظة، الجامعة/ الكلية، والتخصص الدراسي). AB - The study aims to identify university students' attitudes towards reading and its relationship to some demographic variables in the universities of the Sultanate of Oman. The study sample consisted of (1434) male and female university students from various Omani public and private universities affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education. The study covered all (11) governorates of Oman. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach. The researcher employed a scale of reading attitudes to collect the needed data. The study results showed that university students' reading attitudes recorded a high degree. The results also showed there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) in the university students' attitudes toward reading in terms of gender in favor of females, as well as there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) in reading attitudes regarding the variables (governorate, university/ college, and academic specialization).
