AB - This study aimed at identifying the level of irrational thoughts and their relationship to future anxiety among secondary school students during the second semester (2022-2023) at Al Qaser directorate of education. The descriptive correlational approach was used. The sample consisted of (308) randomly-selected male and female students. To achieve the study objectives, Al-Rihani scale for irrational thoughts and Shoqair scale for future anxiety were used; their validity and reliability were verified. The results revealed that irrational thoughts level was medium, while future anxiety level was high. The results showed that there is a statistically significant direct relationship between the total level of irrational thoughts and the total level of future anxiety, and a statistically significant direct relationship between the total level of irrational thoughts and the sub-domains of the future anxiety scale represented in (life problems related to the future, anxiety about thinking about the future, despair about the future, and fear from future failure). The results showed that there was no statistically significant relationship between the total level of irrational thoughts and the sub-domain of the future anxiety "health and death anxiety". The study recommended developing a counseling program by department of counseling to reduce irrational thoughts among secondary school students at Al Qaser Directorate of Education.
