AB - The study aimed to reveal the level of emotional intelligence among the academically outstanding refugee students in Jordan, and the level of psychological and social adjustment among the academically outstanding refugee students, and to clarify the relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and the level of psychological and social adaptation. The study used the descriptive correlative approach, and the sample of the study consisted of (99) male and female students from public schools, among the outstanding refugee students who obtained an average of 90% or more from the seventh and ninth grades, by (37) male students and (62) female students. From the emotional intelligence scale consisting of (57) items distributed over four dimensions (recognizing emotions, expressing emotions, regulating and managing emotions, using emotions), and the psychological and social quality scale consisting of (40) items distributed into two dimensions (psychological quality, social condition). The results of the study showed that the level of emotional intelligence among refugee students who excel academically in Jordan was high, and that the level of psychological and social adjustment among refugee students who excel academically in Jordan was medium. In the level of emotional intelligence and psychological and social adjustment due to the variable of gender and class level, in addition to the presence of a weak correlation with statistical significance between the dimensions of emotional intelligence and the dimensions of psychological and social adjustment. In light of these results, the study recommends the establishment of preventive initiatives, counseling and activity programs that raise the level of emotional intelligence and psychological and social adjustment among refugee students who excel academically in Jordan.
