AB - This study aimed to reveal the level of school bullying and its relationship to the level of self-esteem among primary and secondary school students in the Amman Governorate. The study adopted the descriptive, correlational approach to suit the purposes of the study. The study population consisted of basic and secondary school students for 10th and 11th grades in the Directorate of Education in the Amman Governorate, who numbered (2732) male and female students. The study sample was selected using the stratified cluster method from (350) male and female students, who constituted about (15%) of the original study population. The study was conducted in the second semester of the academic year (2022-2023). To collect the study data, two measures were used: The first is to measure the level of school bullying, and the second is to determine the level of self-esteem, as their psychometric characteristics were investigated. The results of the study showed that the level of school bullying was low among the study sample, and there were no statistically significant differences at (α=1315) between the means on the school bullying scale due to the grade variable, while there were statistically significant differences at (α=1315), in those responses attributed to the gender variable in favor of males. The results also showed that there was a high level of self-esteem among students of the basic and secondary stages in the capital Amman Governorate, and there were no statistically significant differences at (α=1315) in their responses to the self-esteem level scale due to the variables of gender and grade, and the results also showed the presence of an inverse correlation relationship Statistically significant at (α=1315) between the level of school bullying and the level of self-esteem among students of the basic and secondary stages in the capital Amman Governorate. The study recommended the need to educate officials in educational institutions on the importance of providing social and psychological support for students at school, creating a safe classroom environment free of threat, and applying counseling programs for primary and secondary students to enhance their positive behaviors.
