AB - The study aimed to identify the role of the excellence management in developing schools’ performance in South Batinah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve the study aim, a questionnaire has been developed, and it consists of 36 items distributed over six major areas. Once the questionnaire has proved validity and consistency, it is applied to a sample of 320 school administration supervisors, school performance supervisors, school principals, school principal assistants and senior teachers. The study has come out with a set of findings. The participants highly appreciate the role of excellence management in developing the schools’ performance in South Al Batinah Governorate: The findings of the study also show statistically significant differences at the level of α=0.05 using the impact of gender, educational qualification, and years of experience on the evaluation of the participants of the role of excellence management in developing schools’ performance in South Batinah Governorate. Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommends some actions: raising the awareness of excellence management in all the educational institutions, especially among school leaders, initiating special legislations to motivate and award the outstanding performers and question the poor performers, consulting independent external teams to examine the performance in the educational institutions based on the models of excellence management, and taking part in international excellence competitions.
