AU - المراشدة، طلال عبد الله AB - This research focuses on the role of critical thinking in enhancing the learning of Arabic for non-native speakers through eLearning amid challenges stemming from reliance on rote learning and the lack of direct interaction. It aims to uncover the impact of critical thinking on improving linguistic skills and empowering learners to analyze the influx of knowledge critically. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the study examined the reality of e-learning and its connection to critical thinking. It drew on previous Arabic and international studies highlighting critical thinking’s role in deepening understanding and linguistic analysis but overlooked digital environment challenges and the knowledge explosion. Findings revealed that integrating critical thinking into e-learning activities (e.g., virtual discussions and textual analysis) enhances reading and writing skills and helps manage information flow through source evaluation. The study also proposed an integrative model based on challenge-based instructional design, AI-driven feedback, and collaborative learning to address challenges like linguistic diglossia and limited interaction. It concluded by emphasizing the need to develop e-learning curricula supporting critical thinking and training teachers to design activities that foster critical analysis, thereby enabling independent and effective Arabic language learning.
