AB - هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن درجة ممارسة رؤساء الأقسام الأكاديمية لأبعاد الإدارة بالاستثناء (تحديد السلطات، تفويض السلطة، الاتصال الفاعل، تقييم الأداء وتقويمه). لتحقيق ذلك، تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي المسحي الارتباطي، والاستبانة أداة لجمع البيانات. تكون مجتمع الدراسة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة تبوك، والبالغ عددهم (932) عضو هيئة تدريس، وتم اختيار: (278) منهم بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة عينة للدراسة. أظهرت النتائج: أن درجة ممارسة رؤساء الأقسام الأكاديمية لأبعاد الإدارة بالاستثناء جاءت مرتفعة وبمتوسط حسابي: (3.42)، وبالنسبة للأبعاد فقد جاء بعد الاتصال الفاعل في الترتيب الأول بمتوسط حسابي: (72.3) وبمستوى مرتفع، تلاه بعد تفويض السلطة بمتوسط حسابي: (3.62) وبمستوى مرتفع، وجاء بعد تحديد السلطات والمسؤوليات في الترتيب الثالث بمتوسط حسابي: (3.44) وبمستوى مرتفع. أخيرا جاء بعد تقييم الأداء وتقويمه بمتوسط حسابي: (3.04) بمستوى مرتفع. أوصت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات، أبرزها: تأطير مفهوم الإدارة بالاستثناء كمفهوم حديث في الإدارة التربوية، وأسلوب إداري في تأدية المهام والوظائف، والعمل على نشر أسلوب الإدارة بالاستثناء بشكل واسع. AB - The study aimed to reveal the degree to which the heads of academic departments practice the dimensions of management-by-exception (powers determination, delegation of authority, effective communication, performance appraisal and evaluation); from the perspective of faculty members at Tabuk University. To achieve this, the descriptive survey correlational approach was used, and the questionnaire was a tool for data collection. The study community consisted of faculty members (n= 932) at Tabuk University, and simple random samples were chosen of (278) of faculty members. The study results showed: The degree of practicing management -by-exception came to a high level and with an average mean: (3.42); for the dimensions, the effective communication dimension came first with an average mean of (3.72) and a high level; followed by the dimension of delegation of authority with an average mean: (3. 62) and at a high level; the dimension of determining the authorities and responsibilities came third with an average mean: (3.44) at a high level; and finally, the dimension of performance appraisal and evaluation with an average mean: (3.04) at a high level. The study recommended a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which are: framing the concept of management-by-exception as modern concept in educational administration, and an administrative style in performing tasks and functions, and working to widely spread the method of management by exception.
