AB - To reach a considerable education efficiency, we need as an initial step to exploring stakeholders’ perceptions about online language assessment experience. Accordingly, understanding teachers’ perceptions about their experience of assessing language learners online and the obstacles that hindered their practices will help to bring insights towards future sound practices. For this aim, this paper reports the perceptions of English language teachers at the University of Biskra about online teaching and assessment experience and challenges during covid-19 period. An online semi-structured questionnaire was designed to depict the participants’ perceptions about the online language assessment experience, the major challenges affected the process, and the effect of the online assessment on the teaching and learning processes. The data collected was treated statistically using the SPSS. Ultimately, the analysis showed that internet connectivity and lack of training to teach and assess online were the major issues the teachers confronted and prevented online assessment to achieve its promising effects. AB - كخطوة أساسية للوصول إلى كفاءة تعليمية نحتاج لاستكشاف التصورات حول تجربة تقييم اللغة عبر الإنترنت. وفقا لذك، فإن فهم تصورات المعلمين حول تجربتهم في تقييم متعلمي اللغة عبر الإنترنت والعقبات التي أعاقت نشاطهم سيساعد على إيجاد طرق فعالة لبناء ممارسات سليمة للتقييم في المستقبل. لهذا الهدف، تعرض هذه الدراسة تصورات معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية في جامعة بسكرة حول تجربة التدريس والتقييم عبر الإنترنت والتحديات التي واجهتهم خلال فترة كوفيد -19. تم تصميم استبيان شبه منظم عبر الإنترنت لتوضيح تصورات المشاركين حول تجربة تقييم اللغة عبر الإنترنت، والتحديات الرئيسية التي أثرت على العملية، وتأثير التقييم عبر الإنترنت على عمليتي التدريس والتعلم. تم معالجة البيانات التي تم جمعها إحصائيا لتظهر النتائج أن الاتصال بالإنترنت ونقص التدريب في التدريس والتقييم عبر الإنترنت كانت من أبرز المشاكل التي واجهها المعلمون وحالت دون تحقيق التقييم عبر الإنترنت آثاره الواعدة.
