AB - The aims of this study are three fold: 1) to identify the reasons of violent behaviors of secondary school students in Egypt from students' and teachers' standpoints; and 2) to identify the effects of gender, 3) and the effects of the type of education (vocational - general) on those behaviors. The sample of this study consisted of 320 students (160 males and 160 females - 160 from general schools and 160 from vocational schools) aged 15-18, and 200 teachers (100 males and 100 females - 100 teach in general school and 100 teach in vocational school); all - students and teachers - are from secondary schools in Beheira Governorate, Egypt. The researcher used his own questionnaire, which investigates five types of motives (family related, school related, culture-and-media related, peer related, and psychology related) for the study, and the descriptive analytical approach was used for analysis. The results show that: 1) students’ opinions of the motives of violent behaviors are different from those of the teachers. 2) Whereas no significant differences were found between males and females in any of the five parts of the study, there were significant family-related differences (α≥0.05 and p≥95%) between secondary and vocational school students. 3) No differences were found between vocational and secondary school students in the other four parts of the study.
