AU - الأحمد، جهان عبد الحافظ عبيد AB - The study aimed to know the extent to which mathematics books include the fifth grade of the basic stage of critical thinking skills in Jordan. The study population consisted of all mathematics books for the basic stage and the study sample consisted of the fifth-grade mathematics books for the basic stage. The researcher analyzed the content of the book to reveal the critical thinking skills involved in it, and to calculate its repetitions. The study tool consisted of four main skills that subdivided (8) subskills into a table it is a skill of induction and its sub-skill is subdivided from it, the imagination skill and subdivided from it (3) sub-skills, and the skill of evaluation and subdivided from it two sub-skills and the results of the study showed that the fifth grade mathematics books included the conclusion (236) repeatedly is the upper limit of the sum of critical thinking skills, then imagination (the textbook includes exercises that encourage the development of the largest number of solutions) (207) then the conclusion (the text book includes classification activities ), then the induction (the text book includes activities to solve problems) (186), then the evaluation (the textbook activities require the student to assess the solutions and expected results) (170),then imagination (the textbook helps in developing ideas and use of imagination (154)), then imagination (the textbook activities encourage the student to come up with solutions to address the problem) (153), then the evaluation(the textbook activities help to adopt many exploratory methods) (88).
