AB - This research sough to identify differences in the metacognitive thinking level connected with the cognitive style (simplification - complication) in the secondary stage students in the light of sex and major variables. The research community was comprised of 300 male and female who were selected randomly (173 male students - 173 female students). The research instrument was meta - cognitive thinking measurement which was prepared by the researcher and the cognitive style measurement (simplification - complication) which was translated and standardized by Abdel Aal Ajwa (1989). The research findings concluded that there were statistically significant differences in the meta-cognitive thinking level connected with the cognitive style (simplification - complication) in the secondary stage students in the light of sex and major variables.
