AB - This study aimed to identify the role of government school principals in the southern governorates of Palestine in promoting digital education among teachers in light of crises and emergencies and ways to activate it. The study also sought to reveal the presence of differences between the average estimates of the sample members for this role. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method and designed a questionnaire consisting of (37) items distributed over six areas. The questionnaire was applied to a sample of (368) male and female teachers at government schools in the southern governorates of Palestine, whose total number is (8,559) teachers. The interview was used to identify ways to develop this role. Among the most important findings of the study were the following: 1) The degree of the study sample members’ estimate of the role of school principals in the southern governorates of Palestine in promoting digital education for teachers in light of crises and emergencies was large, at a relative weight of (69.6%). 2) There were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the study sample’s estimates of the role of government school principals in the southern governorates of Palestine in promoting digital education among teachers in light of crises and emergencies due to the gender variable in the total score and the fields, except in the areas of planning for digital education and the culture of digital education, and the differences found were in favor of females. 3) There were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the study sample’s estimates of the role of school principals in the southern governorates of Palestine in promoting digital education for teachers in light of crises and emergencies due to the educational qualification variable in the total degree and the fields, except for the two fields of technical environment for digital education and the preparation of the educational material, in favor of those holding a bachelor degree. 4) There were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of the study samples estimates of the role of school principals in the southern governorates of Palestine in promoting digital education for teachers in light of crises and emergencies due to the variables of specialization and years of service. 5) The study presented a set of suggested ways to develop the role of government school principals in the southern governorates of Palestine in promoting digital education for teachers in light of crises and emergencies. In light of the study results, the following recommendations were made: 1) The need for the Palestinian Ministry of Education to pay attention to digital education by empowering teachers with various courses and activities. 2) Providing the necessary equipment and technologies to overcome the challenges facing teachers in digital education.
