AB - The study aims at identifying the role of principals of government primary schools in Gaza governorate in promoting active learning strategies and finding out methods to activate it. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach for data collection as well as the constructive approach. He used the questionnaire as a tool for data collection which consisted of 32 paragraphs distributed on the following areas (technical and administrative). The study sample consisted of (350) male and female teachers in the primary stage. The most important findings of the study: 1) The degree to which primary governmental schools’ principals in Gaza governorates practiced their role in promoting active learning strategies was (72.6%). 2) There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the sample’s estimates regarding the degree to which government primary school principals in Gaza governorate practice their role in promoting active learning strategies attributable to the variables years of service. The most important recommendations of the study: 1) There is a need for the Ministry of Education to pay attention and ensure the selection process for school principals according to the criteria specified in the ministry. 2) Forming a committee of excellence at the school and district levels to follow up on what is new in active learning strategies and work to implement them in primary schools.
