It is necessary to emphasize the important role it plays in teaching science, facilitating learning, acquiring it by working, and maintaining its permanence and continuity. This is what all educators emphasized in terms of interest in experimentation and laboratory work, and it is necessary for teachers to devote as much of their time as possible in an attempt to achieve complementarity between the theoretical and practical sidesا Therefore, the research problem lies through answering the following question: What are the obstacles to using the laboratory in teaching chemistry from the teachers' viewpoint? The research aims to identify obstacles to the use of the laboratory in the teaching of chemistry from the point of view of the teachers themselves. The researcher has followed the descriptive approach. As for the limits of the research, it was represented by (chemistry teachers in secondary schools affiliated to the second Karkh Education Directorate) A questionnaire was prepared from 20 paragraphs and the questionnaire was distributed in The second semester of the academic year 2018/2019 was the most important results of the research and most of the obstacles that teachers revealed through their answer to the questionnaire, which accounted for 90% is the increase in the number of students in the class and the least obstacles are paragraph (20), which states that the laboratory The teacher is exhausted by additional work, which constituted a rate of (5%). The researcher explained the results that were reached, and in light of that she reached a set of conclusions and recommendations.
