AB - The current research aims to analyze the content of the intermediate first grade mathematics book according to the skills of generative thinking. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach to suit his nature of the study goals, as she analyzed the content of the book according to the skills of generative thinking: flexibility fluency, hypothesis development, prediction, reasoning, expansion, and representation .Using repetition ,percentages, and the (Holsti) equation to calculate the consistency of the analysis between the researcher and herself over time, and between her and another researcher. The study concluded that the skills of generative thinking all appeared in the first intermediate grade book in a few and varying proportions, i.e the book focused on skills: flexibility, fluency and reasoning by (64.8%) at the first rank, followed by the skills of expansion and the assumption of assumptions and representation at (30.2%) at the second rank While the skill of forecasting came third (5%), and in light of this, the researcher recommended training the authors of mathematics books to analyze the content of the book according to the skills of generative thinking, and suggested studying the impact of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of educational programs that would develop obstetric thinking skills In mathematics for middle school students through the use of curricular content or through special programs.
