AB - The objectives of this study are: 1) Identify the reality of Egyptian universities and the progress of education after suspending classes during the COVID-19 crisis. 2) Highlight the role of distance education because of the urgent need of university education institutions to confront the COVID-19 crisis and any future crises. 3) Propose scenarios to activate social media and create educational platforms to confront pandemic crises at university education institutions. The study adopted the descriptive approach because of its appropriateness to the topic. Description does not stop at collecting data. Rather, it interprets data, compares with other educational systems, and analyzes existing things. It also moves to conclusion and inference. The study also used the exploratory approach that predicts future situations and phenomena based on the current situations and inputs. The study concluded three scenarios: 1) The extension scenario is the most probable because of many issues, such as the continuation of the virus and the high number of causalities that result in massive damage to the economic system. Such damage directly affects the system and funding of university education. 2) The reform scenario is a step to reform and uncritical changes to address the deadlock case and the existing situation. The number of causalities of COVID-19 is reducing, and the Egyptian economy is improving with the application of hybrid education in university education institutions. 3) The creative scenario is an optimistic view about the cease of COVID-19 and the economic revival, and the stability of the technological infrastructure of technological development in all spheres of life. It can be achieved by making a strategy of the programed digital transformation, making universities ready when any pandemic emerges. (Published Abstract) http://search.shamaa.org/abstract_en.gif
