AU - الرقاد، سناء كاسب عواد AU - أبو كريم، أحمد فتحي AU - درادكه، أمجد محمود AU - رضوان، أحمد محمود أحمد AB - This study aimed to identify strategic leadership and its relationship the competitiveness of public secondary school principals in Amman governorate from principals’ assistants’ point of view. To achieve the objective of the study a descriptive correlation survey method was used and developed two tools: strategic leadership questionnaire, and competitiveness questionnaire and it was verified and validated. A random cluster sample consisting of four districts have been identified, namely: the Kasbah district, the university district, the Marka district, and the Qweismeh district. The study sample consisted of (169) assistants, they were chosen by the stratified random method. The results of the study indicated that the degree of public secondary school principals in the capital Amman governorate practicing strategic leadership was high which the mean reach (7733). Furthermore, the capital Amman governorate from the point of view of assistant directors was also high which the mean reach (3.82). The results also showed a statistically significant correlation between the averages of the response of the principals’ assistants to the degree to which high school principals in the Amman governorate practicing strategic leadership and their relationship in achieving competitiveness which reach (0.943). The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the response of the study sample individuals to the degree of the practice of the principals of public secondary schools in the capital of Amman for strategic leadership due to the gender, and years of service variable. While there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the response of the study sample individuals due to the variable of the academic qualification In favor of the category (Master and above). Furthermore, there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the response of the study sample to the degree of achieving competitiveness among public secondary school principals in the capital Amman governorate, due to gender and years of service variable. while there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the response of the study sample individuals due to the variable of the academic qualification in favor of the category (Master and above). The study recommended that school leaders should formulate a long-term vision and message for their educational institutions, including strategic, realistic, applicable, measurable and adjusting goals to achieve the best educational outcomes. Moreover, establishing a system to manage risks, crises and challenges that includes flexible plans that can be adjusted and developed according to the type and severity of challenges, and the formation of task forces distributed over them to provide support and assistance to leaders of educational institutions.
